Introduction

The Steer Autos Dashboard is your command center for monitoring and managing your automotive business operations. With customizable KPIs, interactive charts, and real-time data visualization, you can make data-driven decisions quickly and efficiently.
💡 Pro Tip - The dashboard automatically adapts to your language and region, displaying currency symbols and number formats according to your selected country.

Dashboard Overview

Main Components

The dashboard consists of several key sections:

KPI Cards

Customizable metric cards displaying your most important business indicators with trend information and period comparisons.

KPI Charts

Visual representations of your KPI data over time, helping you identify patterns and trends at a glance.

Recent Cars

Quick access to your latest vehicle additions with filtering options by size (small, medium, large).

Statistics Carousel

Rotating display of key statistics and performance metrics for easy monitoring.

Working with KPIs

Viewing KPIs

KPIs are displayed as interactive cards on your dashboard, showing:
  • Current Value: The metric’s latest value
  • Trend Indicator: Visual representation of increase/decrease
  • Period Comparison: “Since last week” or “Since last month”
  • Chart Visualization: Optional graphical representation (if enabled)

KPI Categories

KPIs are organized into five main categories for easy filtering:
  • Inventory
  • Sales
  • Operations
  • Customer
  • Marketing
Track vehicle stock levels, turnover rates, and inventory age.Key Metrics:
  • Average Age of Inventory
  • Inventory Turnover Ratio
  • Cars Added Per Day

Managing KPI Settings

To customize your KPIs, click the Settings icon on your dashboard.

Open KPI Settings

Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of your dashboard to open the KPI Settings modal.

Search and Filter

Use the search bar to find specific KPIs, or use the category filter to browse by type (All, Inventory, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer).

Toggle Visibility

Click the eye icon next to any KPI to show or hide it from your dashboard. Hidden KPIs won’t appear on your main view but can be re-enabled at any time.

Reorder KPIs

Click “Enable Reorder” to drag and drop KPIs into your preferred order. This affects how they appear on your dashboard.

Creating Custom KPIs

Custom KPI creation is available for Admin users only. Contact your system administrator if you need custom metrics.
Custom KPIs allow you to track business-specific metrics:

Add Custom KPI

Click the “Add Custom KPI” button in the KPI Settings modal.

Configure Basic Information

Title: Enter a descriptive name for your KPIDescription: Provide context about what this metric measuresKey: Create a unique identifier (e.g., customRevenue)Category: Select the appropriate category (Inventory, Sales, etc.)

Set Appearance

Icon: Choose from available icons to represent your KPIColor: Select a color theme (Blue, Emerald, Yellow, Orange, Green, Purple, Pink, Indigo, Red, Cyan)

Configure Data

Data Type: Choose between Number, Currency, or PercentageAggregation: Select how to calculate the metric (Sum, Average, Count, Min, Max)Target Model: Specify the data source (e.g., Car, Sale)Target Field: Select the field to aggregate

Enable Charts (Optional)

Toggle “Enable Chart” to add visualizationChoose chart type: Donut, Bar, Line, Area, or RadialConfigure display options (Show Legend, Show Labels, etc.)

KPI Charts

Viewing Charts

Charts provide visual insights into your KPI trends over time. To view charts:
  1. Charts are displayed in the “KPI Charts” section below your KPI cards
  2. Each chart shows historical data for KPIs where visualization is enabled
  3. Hover over chart elements to see detailed values

Chart Types

Best For: Showing proportions and percentages
  • Displays data as segments of a circle
  • Perfect for category breakdowns
  • Easy to understand at a glance
Best For: Comparing values across categories
  • Horizontal or vertical bars
  • Great for rankings and comparisons
  • Supports multiple data series
Best For: Showing trends over time
  • Connects data points with lines
  • Ideal for temporal data
  • Reveals patterns and fluctuations
Best For: Emphasizing magnitude over time
  • Similar to line chart with filled area
  • Shows cumulative totals
  • Highlights volume changes

Reordering Dashboard Elements

You can customize the layout of your dashboard to prioritize the information most important to you.

Reorder Mode

Enable Reorder Mode

Click the “Drag to reorder” button at the top of your dashboard.

Drag and Drop

Click and hold on any KPI card, then drag it to your desired position. Other cards will automatically adjust.

Save Layout

Click “Done” to save your new layout. Your preferences are automatically saved and will persist across sessions.
You can also resize certain dashboard widgets by dragging their corners when in reorder mode.

Recent Cars Section

The Recent Cars table shows your latest vehicle additions with quick actions.

Features

  • Size Filter: Filter cars by size (Small, Medium, Large) using the dropdown selector
  • Status Badges: Visual indicators showing car status (Loading, Inspected, Sold)
  • Quick Actions:
    • 👁️ View: Preview car details
    • ✏️ Edit: Modify car information
    • 🗑️ Delete: Remove car from inventory

Filtering by Size

Click the size selector dropdown and choose:
  • Small: Compact and subcompact vehicles
  • Medium: Sedans and mid-size vehicles
  • Large: SUVs, trucks, and large vehicles

Multi-Language & Currency Support

The dashboard automatically adapts to your selected country and language:

Currency Localization

The dashboard displays prices in your local currency:
  • Euro (€): France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, Belgium
  • Dollar ($): United States
  • Pound (£): United Kingdom
  • Yen (¥): Japan, China
  • Saudi Riyal (ر.س): Saudi Arabia
  • And many more…
🌍 Right-to-Left (RTL) Support - For Arabic users, the dashboard automatically switches to RTL layout, including modals, filters, and all UI elements.

Number Formatting

Numbers are formatted according to your region:
  • Arabic Countries: Use Arabic-Indic numerals (٠-٩)
  • Western Countries: Use standard numerals (0-9)
  • Decimal Separators: Automatically adjusted (comma vs. period)

  • Place your most critical KPIs at the top
  • Group related metrics together
  • Use chart visualizations for trending data
  • Hide KPIs you rarely reference
  • Check your dashboard daily for real-time insights
  • Set up alerts for critical threshold breaches
  • Review weekly trends to identify patterns
  • Compare period-over-period performance
  • Define target values for key metrics
  • Track progress against industry benchmarks
  • Adjust targets based on seasonal variations
  • Celebrate wins when targets are achieved

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

  • Refresh your browser page
  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify data source permissions

  • Verify you have appropriate permissions
